MORRISTOWN (WATE) – A drunk driver is facing multiple charges after officers found more than eight pounds of suspected marijuana in his trunk during a traffic stop.

Jeremy Arlington, 33, was charged with violations involving driving under the influence; manufacturing and possessing marijuana; and driving without a license and proof of insurance.

The Jefferson City man was stopped on Tuesday morning on west Andrew Johnson Highway because he appeared to be driving under the influence, according to the Morristown Police Department.

He could not provide proof of insurance and had no driver’s license, officers said.

Officials said they detected a strong marijuana odor coming from the trunk. When they opened the trunk, they found a suitcase with eight vacuumed packages of what appeared to be marijuana and almost $3,000 in cash.

Arlington is being held at the Hamblen County jail.
